There were many seasons when I lay awake at night wondering if I was truly giving my kids what they needed. I loved them deeply, showed up consistently, and tried hard to do things “right”—yet I still felt uncertain, overwhelmed, and afraid I was missing something important.
As a parent of five, I’ve lived with big emotions, constant transitions, and the mental load that comes with raising teens and young adults. I understand the fear that comes with anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, and shutdown—and wanting to help without making things worse.
This work is personal to me on more than one level.
As a teen and young adult, I struggled with anxiety and depression myself. I remember what it feels like to be overwhelmed on the inside and unsure how to explain it. That perspective allows me to understand both the parent who is worried and the teen who feels misunderstood—and it shapes everything I do as a coach.
Like many families, we've faced seasons where peace felt out of reach. I tried all the “good mom” things—praying more, reading the books, implementing systems, and working harder on myself. What finally changed things wasn’t more effort, but learning emotional skills.
Through coaching, I learned how to regulate my own emotions, respond instead of react, and parent from calm instead of fear.
As I changed, our home slowly changed too—not perfectly, but steadily. Fear softened. Confidence grew. Faith had room to breathe again.
Today, I help parents, teens, and young adults navigate anxiety, depression, overwhelm, and emotional stress by teaching the skills they were never taught. These skills allow families to move forward with strength, clarity, and confidence.
Not through quick fixes, but through one conversation, one skill, and one steady step at a time.
Parenting through the teen years can feel like a rollercoaster. One minute you’re close, the next you’re met with silence, tears, or anger. As a mom, you want to help… but it’s easy to feel lost, guilty, or unsure if what you’re doing is working.
Coaching gives you the tools to support your teen and yourself—with confidence, peace, and practical strategies that actually work in everyday life.
Growing up isn’t easy. Between school pressure, social media, and figuring out who you are, it’s normal to feel anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself.
Coaching is a safe space to talk, learn practical tools, and discover your own strength. We work through practical tools to help you manage stress, build resilience, and thrive.
kind words
My teenagers and I participated in emotional resilience training that Summer conducted. We learned so much. The course was full of new concepts and tools that are so imperative, not only for our teens, but young adults and adults, as well. We loved it and we loved Summer's approach!
Summer is extremely knowledgeable in her skills to help clients understand and process their feelings and emotions. This is so helpful, especially to teens as they are trying to navigate all the storms of life.
Summer has a way with words. She is able to teach and get her point across in a way that makes you, as the listener, feel like you can go out and face the trials that await you.
